Bachelor of Arts in International Relations- The course and where you can expect to work.

International Relations, as the name suggests, is a course that deals with relations between countries.

As countries become more interdependent, the countries will have to learn how to be dependent on each other. Learning of different cultures in the world, foreign policies, some bit of history, the strategic interests of various countries as well as a host of other issues involving how nations relate to one another are some of the things that one will learn.

Units in sociology,
international law, culture, security studies, trade and commerce are just some of the units that you will learn. Globalization is also likely to be a major topic, as you will learn how it has affected the relations between different countries.

Typical employers can include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, media companies as a journalist, security think tanks, and in regional bodies such as the African Union, United Nations, East African Community, Comesa etc. The Foreign Service is the most obvious possibility. Foreign Service employees work as diplomats or administrative staff at embassies throughout the world.
