Bachelor of Science (Analytical Chemistry) and Potential Areas of Employment

Analytical Chemistry is the science of measurement and identification of the chemical elements and compounds that underlie most aspects of modern life.

The course is meant to meet industrial needs of dynamic, innovative and capable graduates with sound theory and practical skills in analytical chemistry.

It opens doors and opportunities in various capacities as:-
  • Analytical Chemist
  • Industrial Chemist
  • Government Scientist
  • Forensic Scientist- where analytical chemistry is applied to matters of legal nature e.g criminal, environmental or safety law.

The areas of employment include (but not limited to):-
  • Government departments and parastatals
  • Water purification industry
  • Oil products industries e.g plastics
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Forensic Science
  • Quality control laboratories, research and development
  • Glass, paper, fertilizer and tanning industries

The course is offered in the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University
