Biotechnology is the use of biological knowledge in developing new processes and products for commercial use in industry, health e.t.c

Biotechnologists work
in a range of fields including:- (but not limited to) medical research and laboratory practice, food industry e.g food & beverage production e.t.c, agricultural biochemistry e.g geneticaly modified foods, pharmaceautical production, forensic science, gene technology e.t.c

The course is built on a solid foundation of biology and Chemistry and is offered in many Kenyan universities and constituent colleges i.e JKUAT, Kenyatta Univerty, University of Nairobi, Moi University among others. It is a four year degree programme (8 Sem).
