Bachelor of Science(Economics and Statistics) and its Areas of Employment.


Economics is the study of how societies utilize the limited resources to achieve competing ends. It can be applied to a wide range of real-world problems. Statistics on the other hand is the study of collection, organization, analysis, synthesis and interpretation of data.

It is a four year course.

This course therefore provides a student with a solid foundation in the methods and theories of both disciplines. One is trained to advance their understanding of economic conditions through the analysis, synthesis and reporting of data using the advanced research methods.

Areas of employment include banking and other financial institutions e.g banks industrial firms where they are useful in optimizing production costs, government departments dealing with issues of economic policies,regulation and analysis.
