Loyal Ugandan Kids Bought Soccer Jerseys By Uchumi

Anyone on social media has most likely come across a picture of some Ugandan children playing soccer in ‘jerseys’ made from Uchumi paper bags. This photo impressed most of us and it led to some tweeps on Twitter pleading with the supermarket to purchase some proper games attire. These tweeps argued that the kids had showed ‘loyalty’ and thus deserved some appreciation from the supermarket. Uchumi heeded to their pleas and on 25th October, 2015 the supermarket bought the kids some magnificent sports jersey.
This generous act by the supermarket came at a time when Uchumi had decided to close down its branches located in Uganda.
