Bachelor of Sciece (meteorology) and Potential Areas of Employment
Meteorology is the science of the atmosphere and therefore uses scientific principle to explain, observe, understand and forecast the weather and climate.
We are affected by events and changes in the atmosphere i.e farming, transport, clothing, housing e.t.c Meteorologists are therefore important as they are responsible for forecasting the weather, identifying changes in it and warning of impending adverse conditions e.g drought, el Nino and its controversial cousin la Nina.
Graduates of this course are therefore trained to work in areas such as news stations, weather stations, airports, military, marine e.t.c The Kenya Meteorological Department an agency of the government is also an employer.
