Bachelor of Science in Electrical and electronics engineering- The course and where one can work.

Electrical and electronics engineering is one of the most competitive courses in Kenya.

In fact, the only other courses that have a higher cut off point are medicine/pharmacy and Actuarial science. As the name suggests, the course has mainly to with the design of electrical and electronic parts. As the world gets more digitized, such professionals are likely to be
in high demand. Electrical and electrical engineers can work in the manufacturing sector (in what s known as heavy power), effectively making sure that the electricity supply is correct and safe.

Many engineers however nowadays prefer to work in the telecommunication sector. Typical employers would include telecommunication companies, media and broadcasting companies, and the satellite communication fields. Starting salaries in this field, especially if one gets a good company, are very high. A starting salary of Kshs.100, 000 is not a dream by the way, if one gets a job with a good company. Employers such as Ericson, Siemens etc are some of the companies that pay the highest salaries in this sector. Average starting salaries are somewhere between kshs.30, 000 and kshs.50, 000.

In case you have any question about the course or where you can study it, the fees structure, you can leave a comment in the comments section below, and you will be sure to get a reply.
