Bachelor of Science in Agricultural economics and Resource management- The course and where one can work.

Bachelor of Science in Agricultural economics and resource management is a course that produces practically oriented graduates who are competent and sensitive to address issues related to increased small farm productivity and development.

In a nutshell, one will study about economics and management, with a special application to agricultural disciplines. About 90% of the curriculum is similar to an economics and
management class.

One will learn such aspects as land utilization, scarcity of resources, alleviation of poverty in communities, carrying out the most beneficial economic activities in the community among other activities. Some of the management units will include finance, strategic management, and accounting. In economics, one will make use of economic models and graphs, development economics, some sociology, econometrics among other disciplines.

Some of the major employers of Agricultural economics and resource management graduates include the ministry of Agriculture, lands, agricultural research organizations such as KARI and ICRAF. One can also work for micro-finance institutions and banks that advance loans to farmers and local communities. You can also work for agricultural based organizations such as Kenya Seed, AFC, ADC, KTDA, KCC among others.

The cluster subjects for this course include Maths, Biology, Physics/Chemistry, Humanity/Industrial/Third Science.

Some of the Universities that offer the course include Moi University,JKUAT, Egerton University and their constituent colleges.
