Bachelor of Science(Astronomy and Astrophysics) and Where You Can Work

Astronomy and Astrophysics are different but inseparable disciplines.
Astronomy is a science that examines the universe via the light received from it. Astrophysics on the other hand uses the law of Physics to interpret astronomical phenomena and determine the origin and evolution of cosmos.

Hence in this course the student explores:

• The understanding of heavenly/celestial bodies such as galaxies, planets, moons and stars.
• The ways and methods through which humans have gained this knowledge and insight. This includes the techniques and technology used to gather astronomical data.

Areas of employment
Possible areas of employment include basic or applied space sciences (e.g San Marco in Malindi- a joint space project between the Kenyan and Italian governments), astromical observatories, meteorological & climate study centres, remote sensing and aeronautical engineering departments.

This course is currently offerred in only the University of Nairobi
