Bachelor of Science (Industrial Chemistry) and Potential Areas of Employment

Chemistry is a branch of science concerned with the composition of matter, its characteristics and how it changes upon various effects. It has four parts namely:-
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Analytical Chemistry

The four year duration Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry course provides graduates with skills of problem solving, critical analysis, evaluation and supervision in readiness for their role in industrial research, management and development in chemistry.


They are employable in industrial and public sectors including (but not limited to):-
  • Biotechnological Industries
  • Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries
  • Forensic Sciences
  • Geochemical Industries
  • Mineralogy and Metarllugy Industry

  • Pharmaceautical Industry



They can also find employment in jobs that relate to research and consultancy. The course is offered the University of Nairobi, Moi University and others
