Bachelor of Science (Microprocessor Technology and Instrumentation) and Potential Areas of Employment

A microprocessor is a single integrated circuit that incorporates the functiö of a CPU. This course therefore involves I.T units biased towards microprocessor technology. Instrumentation on the other hand is a branch of engineering that deals with control and measurement. Therefore in this course one learns of the various industrial instruments and their control.

The four year course trains students in areas such as embedded system and related technology as well as application in business system, industry, biomedical and scientific research and instrumentation.

One can specialize in any of the following areas:-
  • Applied Telecommunication
  • Industrial Economics
  • Computing
  • Applied Physics

Employment areas include:-consultancy, mechanical, telecoms, textile, IT, research.

The course is offered in JKUAT and the University of Nairobi.
