This course enables graduates to merge business fundamentals such as accounting, economics, marketing, finance, human resources with those in the food and agro-industry. In fact it is an alternative to a Bachelor of Commerce degree in the agro-industry. It prepares managers and entrepreneurs in agribusiness and food sector.
Some of the units studied in the four year duration of the course include:-
- Business accounting
- Managerial economics
- Price analysis
- Crop and livestock marketing
- Agricultural law e.t.c
Career opportunities exist in both public and private sectors. One can get employment in managerial areas of agribusiness, food and other allied sectors that include (but not limited to):-
- Production
- Finance
- Marketing and advertising
- Farm management
These areas are by no means an exhaustive listing. It is just provided in hopes of giving initial insight into the careers of a graduate of this course.
