This program emphasizes communication and leadership skills for working within groups, families and in multicultural settings. Students are taught governmental, political and economic structures and policies. The degree therefore makes of graduates professionals capable of addressing the public's health and development challenges. They are able to apply their competencies to diagnose the issues, plan and implement amicable health and development solutions.
It also prepares one to be able to provide health education and services to the community. The skills learned prepare students for work in multiple sectors in the human services area, such as health, housing or economic development.
