A bachelor of Arts degree in sociology enables one to work in a wide range of fields.
Since the course mainly deals with society, how societies are organized and general human relations.Sociologists study human behavior as it pertains to how humans relate and interact with one another. The interaction between humans is more complex than that of animals. Human behavior is greatly influenced and governed by social, religious, and legal guidelines. A sociologist studies these behaviors and the influences that preserve certain behaviours and change others.
Students who pursue graduate training in sociology and related fields can also expect to find employment in fields such as teaching, research, planning, social work e.g counselling, public policy and administration. Sociology degree, when combined with some advanced
qualifications in Human Resource, can make very good human resource professionals. Many also work in the provincial administration and in the government jobs as well as in social works. Though there are so many graduates that have graduated with the sociology degree, there is still room at the top, provided one does seek ways in which to stand out.
