Commerce is the exchange of goods and services for money. It is the conerstone of modern capitalist economies.
Bachelor of Commerce is an undergraduate degree offered in almost all Kenyan universities. The course duration is four years but may vary with private institutions that offer the trimester (3yrs).
The course enables one to comprehend how the economy and businesses work. It inculcates the ability and capacity for logical analyses and the skills required to manage public and private entities(both non-profit and profit oriented)
Career opportunities range widely depending on ones degree major
(accounting, finance, insurance, supply chain management, marketing, economics). Finance sector is the most rewarding and also the most volatile. One can work as a financial analysts, marketers, accountant, auditors, economists, statisticians. Some well paying employers include KPMG, pWc and banks.
Additional proffesional qualifications e.g CFA, CPA e.t.c are an advantage.
